So just what does the cosmos have in store for you this next week. . Watch out — a fog is rolling in because nebulous Neptune is the planet of illusion and confusion, and it’s been retrograde for the past five months. During this time of clear sight, life has felt all too real. But now, because Neptune is direct again, we’ll be able to dip back into that lovely fantasy world we generally prefer to reality.
This is perfect for the upcoming Holiday Season, of course. Neptune is the planet that protects us from reality when it’s too harsh. Neptune brings us faith, spirituality and dreams. So when it’s retrograde we see things very clear, and find it harder to escape, or sweep matters under the table. Sure, we may get more accomplished, but it’s always a bit uncomfortable.
Neptune turning direct, on the other hand, gives us a break. It’s sort of encouraging us to live in denial and ignore the nagging fears we don’t feel quite ready to deal with. But that’s OK, because it does inspire our imaginations, brings us new medical research and breakthroughs, and gives us faith. It’s also a good time to tap into your intuition and examine your true desires.
There is a dark side to Neptune, as there is any time you choose fantasy over reality. Of course, we may take our escapism too far and delude ourselves into doing the wrong things — like staying in bad relationships or jobs. However, if we try to think a little bit more objectively during the next five months we can avoid that pitfall.
Use this time instead to appreciate your ability to dream and with the expressions of compassion. Neptune wants to show you the ideal beauty in the world, and this is your chance to let go and feel your way through it with all your heart.
Actions may speak louder than words this week, thanks to a positive dose of expansive Martian energy. On Tuesday, Mars links up to Jupiter, offering plenty of confidence and gusto to pursue your heart’s desire. On Saturday, Venus will be sextile to Saturn, helping keep both feet on the ground while you allow your heart to soar. By Sunday, however, the Sun will square off with Neptune, and all may not be what it appears to be despite your idealism.
You may feel anxious this week if a close friend or partner refuses to be pinned down on an issue that is very important to you now. The dynamics are even more complicated than they first seem, for you might also be secretly relieved that he or she is somewhat elusive. Paradoxically, it’s easier to commit when the other person isn’t as willing. Luckily, you can avoid a confrontation if you see both sides of this dilemma as dual aspects of yourself. Just flow with it, and try not to make any big issues over matters. Just look within and reach for patience and understanding.
