THIS WEEK’S UPDATE
The Moon enters romantic and social Libra on Sunday the 18th, and continues into Monday. It is a good time to meet up with friends or have a Christmas Party. On Tuesday the 20th, relationship oriented Venus enters networking Aquarius for the next three weeks. It is a good time to meet new friends.
Aquarius is cool but friendly, taking some of the heat out of romance this week. Enjoying new people and experiences without commitment or expectations makes sense and most of us are busy with the Holidays — that usually concerns putting family first. The Capricorn New Moon on Christmas Eve reminds us to consider our ambitions for the future.
You are probably thinking, “glad this year is gone-but it went so fast.” Although there will be some re-visioning and readjustment of your goals in early 2012, I believe 2012 will be even quicker than this past year of 2011—especially when Jupiter moves into Gemini next summer.
So enjoy your Holiday Season and take some time to yourself before it all starts up again. The Winter Solstice (Dec. 21, 9:30 PM PST) shows some minor conflicting energy for the next three months. The Moon represents the next three months, and is in “go deep” Scorpio this week, which is challenging altruistic Neptune. Forgiveness practices would be a good thing to do here, since you do not want to carry old emotions or fears into the year ahead. The Sun and Pluto are also aligned in a challenging relationship to explosive Uranus (and the New Moon on Dec. 24th adds even more energy to the transforming pattern). Be careful on the road, and of sudden, unexpected outbursts, especially in the snowy, winter months.
It would be wise to take some quiet, introspective time to decide what will go with you into the New Year and what will not. Whether it is an end of the year donation to the Goodwill box to get a final tax write off, or an emotional release Solstice ceremony, the end of the year is excellent for personal and quiet release ceremonies. Whatever is preventing you from moving ahead, write it down, release it, burn what you wrote, while looking forward to New Years. On New Years Day take some time to write that which you hope to accomplish and achieve in 2012.
The moon moves into Aries for New Year’s Eve. This is a fiery and passionate energy, and an excellent placement for new Years because it represents the pioneering new beginnings. There are some challenging planetary shifts around 10 PM on New Year’s Eve, so many will celebrate early and be tired and done before midnight.
