STARGAZING — Week of August 17th through August 23rd, 2015

Aug 15, 2015 | Monthly Astrology|Stargazing

Lovers at sunsetEnjoy the electric love energy at the beginning of the week, because after that it’s time to get down to business. Tend to all those little tasks and details at home or office on Monday morning, because you will not have patience to bother with them as the week progresses.

Wednesday, August 19, Venus Retrograde trines Uranus and you might give a hot and heavy — but fleeting — love affair a second chance because then Venus will be at a perfect angle to Uranus. Venus and Uranus together often indicate excitement and “love at first sight” opportunities, but all by itself this connection has little staying power. Since Venus is retrograde, there’s an indication that someone in your past that you hooked up with (or wanted to) will make an appearance again, offering you the opportunity once more. If you take it, you may want to leave your expectations at the door and be willing to simply live in the moment!

In fact, Wednesday would be a great time to take off for a mental health day. If you are not able to sneak away with sensual pleasure-loving Venus is friendly and “let’s throw a revolution” Uranus, then at least do something out of the ordinary – even if it is only lunch at a new restaurant with an “out of the box” eccentric friend.

Saturn On Friday, the Sun will square off with Saturn, snuffing out your light and demanding that you focus on what needs to get done. You might have an authority figure such as your partner, boss, or a parent sternly criticize you for the way you are prioritizing things in your life at the moment. He or she might even admonish you for playing before working. Although there’s a short detour on the stargazing highway Friday, after that it looks like a smooth ride. On Friday, August 21st, the Leo Sun gets one stubborn square-off with Saturn in Scorpio, which could cause a major work stoppage. Keep your eyes on the news that day. Saturn always carries a message to expect delays, but its purpose is to teach not deny. Take the time to stop and pay attention and find out what this energetic detour means for you. There’s no time like the present because this window of opportunity only last until the sun goes down on Saturday.

Friday afternoon follows this healthy goofing off theme, except that the energy is more quiet than eccentric. Turn the phone off and lock the doors Friday afternoon and evening, or spend the evening privately with a close friend or lover. Saturday is the better day for a social party. The moon moves into Sagittarius Saturday afternoon, so a party or hike in beautiful nature is called for. It would be wise to watch the budget this weekend as well.

Sun Solstice Then, on Sunday, the Sun enters Virgo and everyone will seem to be in that “business” mode — including you! Use the energy of the Virgo Sun to take care of every essential detail that helps your life function. The Sun in Virgo is the annual wake up call to get moving on those outdoor home projects that need to be accomplished before the fall weather comes. It is also a good month to cleanse your body or closets, especially since Mercury retrogrades mid-September, while still in Virgo. Since Virgo is the handmaiden of the zodiac, it’s no surprise that this energy will be focused on helping others. It also helps us to analyze and care for or pets, diet and general health; of course, with the Sun in Virgo, the goal is to be practically perfect, so be sure to go easy on yourself and others.

However, do make time for social activity on Sunday the 23rd, because the emotional moon is more interested in relationships today than in the tasks that you have on your list. Just don’t forget to whistle while you work because the Sun meets up with Jupiter, bringing you your just rewards next week!
