As February, 2018 draws to a close, we are ready for brighter, spring-like days. But the March winds can blow a fast chill on us. Although we will have an early Spring, we must wait a little longer for the green buds and spring flowers to appear. March reminds you to be careful of the economy and to begin to conserve resources. We have just left two eclipses and some of our tension and woes behind. As we head towards summer, there is a delightful promise of better days ahead.
Faith is the magical elixir of Pisces, that can vanquish hesitation, paralyzing anxiety, and inner qualms. It can transform your life, offering increased psychic receptivity, Universal love, and Divine enlightenment. Compassion is essential now that you are in the final phase of your zodiac journey. Mid-month Aries brings the Spring energies and new beginnings as well as new growth. Altruism must take precedence over egotism, as empathy for humanity replaces individual pride and the competitive impulse. Understanding, as a tool for accepting life’s mysteries, should be the special gift of every Piscean and it can be yours as well. FROG: Cleansing
Sing, Frog, sing,
Call the rains,
Quench the dryness,
Cleanse the earth,
Then fill me up again.
Frog sings the songs that bring the rain and make the road dirt more bearable. Frog medicine is akin to water energy, and the East on the medicine wheel. Frog teaches us to honor our tears, for they cleanse the soul. All water rites belong to Frog, including the initiations by water.
Water prepares and cleanses the body for sacred ceremony. It is the element we understand best in the womb. Frog, like ourselves, is a pollywog in the fetal waters, and only learns to hop after it experiences the world of fluidity.
The transformation into adulthood prepares Frog for its power to call in waters of the skies: the rain. In knowing the element of water, Frog can sing the song that calls the rain to the Earth. When the ponds are dry, Frog calls upon the Thunder Beings to cleanse and replenish the Earth with water. Like Frog, we are asked to know when it is time to refresh, purify, and refill the coffers of the soul.
Frog has hopped into the vibrations of March 2018, in the water sign of Pisces, and its “ribet” may be calling in the cleansing you need. If you were to look at where you are today, would you use any of the following words to describe your condition: tired, overloaded, frustrated, harried, guilty, itchy, nervous, at a loss, empty, or weakened? If so take a break and allow yourself to bathe in the waters of Frog medicine. This could mean a long relaxing bath, disconnecting the phone, yelling “stop” or simply taking three deep, cleansing breaths.
The key thought is to find a way to rid yourself of distractions and to replace the mud with clear energy. Then replenish your parched spirit, body and mind. An ability of Frog medicine people is to give support and energy where it is needed. A Frog medicine person can clean and clear any negativity from any environment. Many mediums or clairvoyants who work with “cleaning” haunted houses carry Frog medicine. Many of the worlds “seers” use water on their hands when tapping into the other realms of reality due to water’s super-conductive nature.
In Myan and Aztec shamanistic practices, the Shaman places water in his or her mouth and sprays it over the body of a patient to clear away any negative energy. This is done while holding the thought of Frog firmly in the mind so that healing may occur and the patient may be replenished with positive energy. Sometimes dried and stuffed frogs are also used to guard the person’s body during the session.
Frog speaks of new life and harmony through its rain song. The deep tones of frog’s “ribet” are said to be a call to the Thunder Beings; thunder, lightening and rain. The “ribet” is the heartbeat that comes into harmony with Father Sky and calls for the replenishment needed. Call to Frog and find the peace and joy of taking time to give to yourself. A part of this giving is cleansing yourself of any person, place, or thing that does not contribute to your new state of serenity and replenishment.

AQUAMARINE – A variety of beryl. Calms the nerves, reduces fluid retentions, strengthens kidneys, liver, spleen, thyroid. Purifies the body. Enhances calmness of mind, aids creative self-expression. Brings physical/mental/emotional balance. Helps to banish fears and phobias. Excellent for meditation, inspiration, peace, calmness, love.
Jasper – A variety of chalcedony. Strengthens liver, gallbladder, bladder. Powerful healer. Main impact is on the physical body. Represents our earth element. Works with the Chakras and adjusting your attitude, according to the color of the Jasper stone.
RUNE of the Month – THE SELF
MANNAZ — The Self
Mannaz represents the starting point which is the Self. Its essence is water, the sign of PISCES. Only clarity and the willingness to change is effective now. A correct relationship with yourself is primary, for from this flows all possible correct relationships with others and with the Divine
Remain modest – that is the Oracle’s counsel. Regardless of how great may be your merit, be yielding and devoted, moderate and correct, for then you have a true direction for your way of life. Be in the world but not a part of it. That is implicit here, however do not be closed, or narrow, or judging. Remain receptive to impulses flowing from the Divine within and without. Here you might contemplate the words from Hamlet: “To thine own self be true.” These words also may be contemplated, “strive to live the ordinary life in a non-ordinary way.” Remember at all times what is coming to be and passing away, and focus on that which abides. Nothing less is called for from within you now. MARCH will be a time of major growth and rectification, and as a rule rectification must come before progress.
This is not a time for trying to gain credit for accomplishments, but rather to seek to fulfill the time span content to do your tasks for the task’s sake, which is the meaning of imminent activity. This will be more of a problem for those whose eyes are always on the goal than for those who have not forgotten how to play and can more easily and readily lose themselves in doing the work for its own sake. Herein lies the secret of experiencing a true presence.
If you take Mannaz, the Rune of Self, and cut it down the middle you have the Rune for Joy with its mirror image. There is a subtle caution here against carelessness. The dancing acrobatic energy of balancing is called for in March, 2018. The Self is required to balance within the Self. Do Nothing in excess was the second phrase written over the temple in Delphi. The first phrase was know thyself. With these words the order of the Runes begin.
Above all – this month of March – do not give yourself airs. The momentum of past habits is the challenge here. In the life of Spirit you are always at the beginning.

Mercury retrogrades on the 22nd so expect traffic jams, or travel problems to slow you down.
Taurus (4/21-5/21)
Getting yourself outside, preferably by a lake or ocean front, will be extremely therapeutic, Taurus. Passion and romance are strong for you in March. Arguments over finances are also possible so watch out for a shouting match. Although you may win, just make sure you don’t lose anything precious in the process.
Gemini (5/21-6/20)
March brings time for a break and some fun. Lot’s of friends will want to join you, so get out the list and start calling. You may feel a bit of resentment or a grudge with a loved one as mercury retrogrades on the 22nd. Well Gemini, you have three weeks to think things over. You can either ditch the grudge and get over it, or make a clean break. The choice is always yours.
Cancer (6/21-7/22)
Tread cautiously with love as March opens, Cancer. You may get into a confrontation with a higher-up over finances mid-month. If you’re not careful a long term feud could ensue. Take a deep breath, tread carefully. It may not be easy, but it has to be done. If you’re at odds with elders and superiors, sit down and talk things through before mercury retrogrades. Don’t allow things to linger into that time frame.
Leo (7/23-8/22)
You’re wanting to hit the road and travel as March opens Leo. If you can’t manage that right now, then planning a summer vacation will lift your spirits. On an impulse you could decide to take on a new lover. If already attached, then think long and hard about making any changes. If single, this could be what “love at first sight” is made of. Be careful of petty fights at month’s end.
Virgo (8/23-9/22)
You want to simply take off to far away places and have fun as March opens, Virgo. It should be easy to cover your bases and do just that. Time to put away those shy glances and get busy with love and attraction. Make your intentions known and you’ll get a lot further down the road of establishing a new relationship. Financial matters become delayed as Mercury retrogrades on the 22nd. Have patience, it won’t be easy, but have a talk with the people involved.
Libra (9/23-10/22)
You’ve been putting your nose to the grindstone lately, Libra. If you have some days for time off, be sure to take them. Don’t fight it. You’ve earned it and you know it. The Full Moon at the end of March asks you to open your eyes to your relationship for what it really is. It’s time to be practical. Is this good for you. Take a step back and assess the situation while Mercury is retrograde. You’ll have your answer once it turns direct.
Scorpio (10/ 23-11/22)
You help organize a big event in March, Scorpio. It’s hard work, but as its going along, you step back and see the success accomplished. Your heard could feel full with delight. You’re feeling red-hot and passionate this month, but don’t come on too strong. You don’t want to scare anyone away. That defeats the purpose.
Sagittarius (11/23-12/21)
Your talents come into the spotlight as March opens, Sag. The higher-ups finally begin to notice you. Your love life gets a bit spicy as March moves along. You could become involved with some intrigue that is deliciously mysterious. Be wary about what could lure you away from your daily routine.

If you need to take some time off, better plan it for early March because it gets more difficult later. You could be romantically attracted to a current friend as the month progresses. It may not be a “forever” thing but the spiritual warmth exchanged makes it all worthwhile. Don’t miss out. Mercury retrogrades on the 22nd causing all kinds of periods of frustration for three weeks. Try to have some patience and find some positive distractions.
Pisces (2/19-3/20)
March is a watery month for Pisces, so get outside by a lake or ocean and feel the early spring breezes. Don’t forget about art, music, and your metaphysical ventures. The Full Moon on March 1st asks you to open your eyes about some relationship issues. They need to be worked out, for good or for ill. It may be time to make a change. Mercury retrogrades on the 22nd in your house of finances. You may need to wait on a major purchase. Also, hold on to your receipts, especially with electronic purchases.
