My Friend, Joe Franklin, the "Father of Talk Shows," passes away

 
Joe Franklin, who passed away at the age of 88, was more than an icon, he was a gentleman. I was lucky enough to be on his show as the “in-house psychic” for more than 15 years. Franklin was knowledgeable about show business – going back to the 1940’s. He was kind to everyone, and truly knew his music. Several times I was in the WOR Studio with him on his last night radio show – featuring music memorabilia. We would reminisce about music, early rock and roll, Dick Clark and American Bandstand. To this day, I would often call him and catch up on the latest NY City news. He knew everything and everybody. I’ll miss you Joe – RIP
