The Sun has entered the sign of LEO
The fiery sign of LEO has an inside track on love, power and the universe. One of the best routes you can take is heart-focused meditation. Anything you can do to enhance the purity of your ideas and creativity will bring you rewards. Developing and using your creative abilities creates an energy flow within you that triggers that same flow to others when they encounter the work you have done. Music, acting and temporal forms of artistic expression that involve an audience as you create, brings you an especially potent technique. Engaging in sports activities brings joy and enthusiasm and at its best, brings playfulness to both spectators and players. Taking on a leadership role will challenge you to bring forth your best, Leo. Working and playing with children can also trigger spontaneity within for the benefit of everyone involved. Children respond the best when someone is able to touch their minds and hearts to draw them out. Their relative openness, especially when young, will allow you to open your heart as well. No matter what you do, if you realize that by giving to others you give to and improve yourself, you will always be on the right track.
2024 – The Spotlight is on Your Home
In August the spotlight is on your home, pleasures, loved ones, and creativity. With the Sun in Leo for the first three weeks, you just want to be yourself, and do the things you enjoy. Recreation does not have to be expensive. Life’s simple pleasures, such as sunsets, a loved one’s smile, a stroll through the park with your partner or bestie, or playing with your pet can be joyful and create lasting, wonderful memories.
The August 10th Full Moon in Aquarius provides a positive influence that extends into the next two weeks. You can spend time with friends or pursue goals. As August advances, several challenging planetary alignments may find you struggling with current laws, rules, and regulations. You usually resent being told what to do.
Mars spends most of August in Gemini where Jupiter is passing through as well. This combination of planetary influences can ignite or amplify emotions. Mars is in an air sign along with Jupiter, and can trigger firey emotional scenes and heated arguments.
It’s okay now, take a deep breath, because when Venus moves into Virgo on August 9th, you can let loose and enjoy life. Be careful not to take any unnecessary risks. RACCOON
Generous Protector
Racoon, protector of the underdog.

Raccoon carries the medicine of the protector of the underdog, and provider for the young, infirm, and elderly. Often called the “Little Bandit” by southern tribes, this Robin Hood of the animal kingdom teaches us about generosity and caring for others. When Raccoon comes your way, you are being asked to contact your inner warrior, to become a protector and generous provider for those in need. Raccoon medicine people have the uncanny ability to assist others without allowing them to become victims or dependents. Like the tribal chiefs of old, Raccoon tends to the needs of the tribe before taking anything for itself.
A troupe of Raccoons scouting for food is often a hilarious exercise in generosity. Aftermrolling on the communal or floor, they finally settle on their favorite morsels, giving the best tidbits to their lookout. Raccoons leave a lookout behind when raiding a campsite or mountain cabin , usually the dominant male. He is always fed first by the other raiders to honor his viliglance as the group’s protector. This uncommon lack of greed is as rare in humans as it is in the rest of the animal kingdom. While other creatures fight one another for the best of the kill, Raccoon teaches the Universal Law of giving back to the source of your strength, guidance, and protection. You are also reminded that benevolence and generosity come around all circle to reward the giver.
Raccoon has wandered into the LEO vibration of 2024.The little banding may be asking you to look around and see who may need use of your strength at this time. Speak up in defense of another instead of remaining silent when others are gossiping. Maybe it’s time to share the bounty of your time, energy, or possessions with others who are less fortunate. However, remember to help those in need to develop their own protector and provider skills. In all cases, Raccoon asks you that you honor yourself and others equally. Provide for your own needs first, or your well will be dry when you choose to give generously. Chief’s earn their Eagle Feathers when they promote every human’s right to self-dignity; acting in this manner brings the same honor to yourself and your family.
CRYSTAL for AUGUST: THE PERIDOT and ONYX

RUNE of the Month – URUZ
URUZ — Strength
Manhood, Womanhood, A Wild Ox
This is the Rune of termination and new beginnings, as the year winds down with URUZ. The Rune, Strength, indicates that this will be a time when you realize the life you have been living has been outgrown in its form, and so must die out to allow a new energy, bringing in a new birth, with a new form. As you walk through these hot days of August, 2024, know that Uruz is a Rune of passage and, as such, is a part of the cycle of Self-Transformation.
Positive growth and change, however, may involve passage into darkness as a part of the cycle of perpetual renewal. As in Nature, the progression consists of five parts: death, decay, gestation, germination, rebirth. Events occurring now may well prompt you to undergo a death within yourself. Since self-change is never coerced – as we are always free to resist – remain mindful that the new form, the new life, is always greater than the old.
Prepare then, for opportunity disguised as a loss. It could involve the loss of someone or something to which there is an intense emotional bond, and through which you are living a part of your life, a part that must now be retrieved so you can live it out for yourself. Now, in some way, that bond is being severed, a relationship radically changed, a death experienced. Seek among the ashes and discover a new perspective and a new birth.
The original meaning for this rune was the Wild Ox. When the wild ox was domesticated, a nearly impossible task, it could transport heavy loads. Learn to adapt yourself to the demands of such a creative time. Firm principles attach to this Rune, and at the same time humility is called for since in order to rule you must learn how to serve. Write down some important changes that need to be made, and make them a part of your new life routine, then stick by them. This Rune energy will put you on notice that your Soul and the Universe will support the new growth.

This has always been the section for Healing Requests. Through the power of group prayers, healing take place spontaneously. You can be of help to many others, as well as your loved ones, with one minute of silence at 7:30 pm EST every Sunday evening anywhere in the world. The August New Moon in Leo promises adventure and romance. Use the first few days in August for a quick get-away vacation. If you’re refinancing your home, the best day to show it is on the 11th. It will show its best assets and score well. The third Mercury retrograde begins on August 5th through 28th. Use the time to edit reports and clear the clutter. Travel could be difficult on the 14th. Your social calendar will be full throughout August.
Taurus (4/21-5/21)
It’s best in August to plan your vacation time after the 29th, when Mercury comes out of retrograde. Make your new vehicle choice after assessing the cost of keeping it on the road, gas mileage advantage, and the cost of fuel. Again, never purchase a car, computer, or other vehicle during Mercury retrograde. The Full Moon in Aquarius on the 19th could make your staff at work tired and cranky as well as late to work. Don’t schedule any morning meetings..
Gemini (5/21-6/20)
As August opens you feel centered and organized. However, Mercury retrogrades in Virgo on the 5ththrough the 28th, throwing in a few curve balls. A sibling or family member comes to town for a long-planned family event. The time spent is precious bonding time. Your luck continues this month when a lottery scratch-off card brings you a surprising win. Tour household tranquility mat be disrupted when Mercury is retrograde because of some missing important papers. They’ll turn up before month’s end.
Cancer (6/21-7/22)
August brings balance to your money and social life, Cancer. Your partner will sing your praises if you devote at least one full day to chores both inside and out around the house. The Leo New Moon promises to be a positive time to purchase materials and supplies for that home project. Say yes to an invitation from a member of your business network on the 25th. Be sure to ask many questions regarding leads on emerging business opportunities. Tempting summer clearance sales lure shoppers in your area at month’s end.
Leo (7/23-8/22)
Mercury goes retrograde on August 5th in Virgo through the 28th. Be on top of schedule changes, missing information, and confusing or lost messages. Postpone signing any important documents. You could hear from people out of the past or someone unexpectedly; siblings, cousins, neighbors, students, co-workers, or even your children’s teacher. Get ready for a visit from relatives who live a long distance away. The last week in August indicated a flurry of activity from the management team looking for dates to schedule key meetings in September,
Virgo (8/23-9/22)
Venus is in Virgo for most of August, adding a lightness to your step with your partner and family members, Also, Mercury retrogrades in your sign through August 28th. You and some neighbors shop for supplies for a community event mid-month. If you’re single, a new neighbor could find you attractive and is eager to exchange contact information. Your partner has an emotional setback when Mercury is retrograde. Be gentle and take the time to find the root of the problem. Accept the request at work to interview possible candidates for vacant positions at work at month’s end.
Libra (9/23-10/21)
The Leo New Moon in August expands the scope of your projects through cooperation with other people who are deeply interested in positive results. Take a breather from an intense schedule over the weekend. While on vacation, bond with your significant other on the 23rd when the Moon is in Aries in your house of partnership. A business trip may be postponed with Mercury retrograde. Postpone it until after Labor Day.
Scorpio (10/ 23-11/22)
Mercury retrogrades in Virgo on August 5th through the 28th. Expect your group projects at work to have questions, confusion, and slow down during this time. Based on your hectic work schedule, it could be August 25th before you and your partner can enjoy some time and a day together. Keep your eye on prices while shopping and don’t pay extra without looking around at month’s end.

The New Moon in Leo on August 4th beckons you to start packing for a refreshing getaway. Early in the month you’ll hear from long-distance relatives looking to hook up with you for a visit. The love planet Venus occupies your opposite sign Virgo for most of August. This could sent a new love and lots of romantic vibes your way. Visitors arrive mid-month to tour local venues and parks with a swimming pool or lake. At work, newly purchased equipment is part of the transition to a more efficient operating system. Make sure to schedule employee training after Labor Day, to make sure Mercury is finally direct. Some seemingly harsh words can bring misunderstandings as Mercury comes out of retrograde on the 28th. This is not unexpected with the energy present. Pause and be sure to clarify your meaning to the other party involved.
