Now withdraw into the rose center of your heart. Meditate on the perfect rose. The rose of twelve petals lies at the temple of your heart. Its petals are opening to the sun – every petal gleaming and glowing with the light. There is an ineffable Light in the heart of the rose.
Become enfolded within these petals, in a soft pearly light. You are within the temple of the rose, the Sun pours down into the heart—opening up the doorway to all empowering, unconditional Love. You are a part of this radiance and one with all of humanity, within the heart of the ROSE.
Allow the light from the Masters show how to live divinely and to rise above the dualities of this world and find peace within. Become a giver of peace and love to others. By dwelling on these higher energies and striving to emulate the qualities expressed, you will open your heart to absorb more deeply the Spirit manifested in all God-united souls. Let the strength that upholds the Universe filled your being filling you with everlasting love. Smell the fragrance emitting from the center of the rose and fill yourself up with the radiance of the Universe.

The Sun has entered CAPRICORN
The sign of CAPRICORN in many ways, is the most misunderstood and mysterious sign of the zodiac. Following the Winter Solstice and the full moon closeness to the earth, you can reach the summit of material achievements or suffer the pangs of martyrism. As your mind opens to spiritual laws and teachings, apply what you learn in a pragmatic and businesslike manner and sidestep the isolation that afflicts many born under the earth sign signified by the determined Goat and the legendary Unicorn. Keep on relentlessly moving up your private mountaintop to worldly prominence. While conservative work methods are the golden rule, don’t get trapped in a crystalized lifestyle that prevents flexibility and invites emotional rigidity. When you take command of the dynamic thinking process and concentrate on objectives with clarity, executive leadership will crown your valiant efforts.

ANIMAL: THE ARMADILLO
Armor all my boundaries,
Teach me my shields,
Reflect all the hurt,
So I will not yield.
Armadillo wears its armor on its back, its medicine is a part of its body. Its boundaries of safety are a part of its total being. Armadillo can roll into a ball and never be penetrated by enemies.
What a gift it is to set your boundaries so that harmful words or intentions just roll off. Your lesson is in setting up what you are willing to experience. If you do not wish to experience feeling invaded, just call on Armadillo.
A clue to how to proceed is to make a circle on a piece of paper and see it as a medicine shield. In the body of the shield, write all that you desire to have, do, or experience. Perform this ritual before the New Moon on October 10th if you can. Be sure to include all that you love and things that bring you joy. This is called setting a condition. This will set up boundaries for you, and will allow only these chosen experiences to be a part of your life. These boundaries become a shield that wards off all things which are undesirable to you. The shield reflects what you are and what your will is to others on an unconscious level. Outside of the shield you may put what you are willing to experience by invitation only. An example would be a visit by a long lost relative, or criticism from friends, or people asking for handouts.
Armadillo waddles into October’s Libra energies. It is time to define your space. You may have been too willing to allow your home to become a bus station. You may find that you cannot say no, even when you know that you will have to cancel other plans to be obliging. This routine can get old in a hurry!
It may be time to ask yourself the following questions:
- Am I honoring the time I need for my personal enjoyment?
- Do others treat me like a doormat?
- Why do I always get upset when I’m taken for granted?
- Is there a reason for my being a “yes” person?
All of the answers to these questions relate to setting up boundaries. They help to show what you will do and what you won’t do. They show what is comforting and comfortable to you, and what is not. How you react in any circumstance has to do with your ability to become objective and tune into the environment and to others. You cannot be objective if you cannot tell where the other person’s personality stops and where yours begins. If you have set no boundaries, you become a sponge. It will seem as if all of the feelings in a room full of people are yours. Ask yourself if you are really feeling depressed or if this feeling really belongs to the person you are talking to? Then allow Armadillo’s armor to slice in-between, giving you back your sense of self.

EIHWAZ— DEFENSE—Aversive Powers—The Yew Tree
As we are tested in life, we find the power to block and defeat. At the same time, we develop in ourselves an aversion to the conduct that brings us into stressful situations.
There appears to be a blockage on the path, but even delays may prove to be beneficial. Do not be overly eager to press forward. This is not a time or situation in which you can make your influence felt. Patience is the counsel that Eihwaz offers us in the month of January, 2024. Nothing hectic, no acting needy or lusting after a desired outcome. This Rune speaks of the difficulties that arise at the beginning of a new cycle or new life. Often it can announce a time of waiting. It is time for the spring to fill up with water and the fruit to ripen on the vine.
Perseverance and foresight are called for here. The ability to foresee consequences before you act is the mark of the profound person. Avert anticipated difficulties through right action. We are not the doers but the deciders. Once our decision is clear, the doing becomes effortless, for then the Universe supports and empowers our action.
As we receive this Rune – Eihwaz – consider yourself put on notice that through inconvenience and discomfort, growth is promoted. This month may well be a trying time, and certainly a meaningful one. Set your house in order, tend to good business, be clear, and wait on the Tao, the will of Heaven.
