MEDITATION
There comes a time when you seek to comprehend the true meaning of PEACE, and how you as an individual may find that peace, a peace which the world can neither give you nor take from you.
This is one way. Visualize the blazing Star, still, as yet full of life and light. Identify yourself with the Star, with the center of that Star. Allow your energies to go into the still center of that Star. Within that center you will find that all the anxieties of material life, all the struggles that you encounter in daily life, will fall away from you. In the heart of the Star is deep, eternal peace, and within this peace you are united with those whom you love.
On a daily basis give yourself time to enter this Star Temple, this calming scene. Go into it, away from the noise and turmoil, confusion, fears and anxieties of the material plane. There, within the center of this Star, find divine, holy peace. Hear within your Soul the music of the heavenly spheres, the music of the Holy Word, the audible life-stream which flows from the heart of the Creator.
Be still now, within your mind and body. Listen inwardly. Beneath all sound, beneath all thought, in the deep silence at the heart of creation, you will hear the harmony of God.

The Sun has entered CAPRICORN
In many ways, Capricorn is the most mis-understood and mysterious sign of the zodiac. Following the Winter Solstice you can reach the summit of material achievements as we go into 2012. As your mind opens to spiritual laws and teachings, apply what you learn in a pragmatic and businesslike manner and sidestep the isolation that afflicts many born under the earth sign signified by the determined Goat and the legendary Unicorn. Keep on relentlessly moving up your private mountaintop to worldly prominence. While conservative work methods are the golden rule, don’t get trapped in a crystalized lifestyle that prevents flexibility and invites emotional rigidity. When you take command of the dynamic thinking process and concentrate on objectives with clarity, executive leadership will crown your valiant efforts.
Earthy Capricorn, symbolized by the Mountain Goat or legendary Unicorn, is in many ways the most mysterious of the twelve Zodiac signs. Like its counterparts, Taurus and Virgo, sensible efforts, conservation, and painstaking discipline are keynotes. Yet Capricorn opens a portal to a spiritual level of love that still befuddles the mainstream of humanity. Thus, the Christmas Holy Day is often lost in a swirl of social activity and gift-giving instead of being honored as an annual opportunity for the restoration of inner light and Divine wisdom in everyone. Based on the Rune Disruption and the Animal Armadillo, January brings snow, snow, snow as well as a focus on your well being, your energy levels and future endeavors. It is time for the truth to come out as well as building up or renewing and healing relationships, and finally letting go of any negative situations or painful memories from the past. Prepare yourself for some ego battles. The strength and stamina are available for you to finally make some important and significant changes as the New Year opens. 2012 brings important decisions, life changes, and a new direction.

ANIMAL—ARMADILLO
Armadillo
Armor all my boundaries,
Teach me my shields,
Reflect all the hurt,
So I will not yield.
Armadillo wears its armor on its back, its medicine a part of its body. Its boundaries of safety are a part of its total being. Armadillo can roll into a ball and never be penetrated by enemies.
What a gift it is to set your boundaries so that harmful words or intentions just roll off. Your lesson is in setting up what you are willing to experience. If you do not wish to experience feeling invaded, just call on Armadillo.
A clue to how to proceed is to make a circle on a piece of paper and see it as a medicine shield. In the body of the shield, write all that you desire to have, do, or experience. Perform this ritual before the New Moon on December 24th if you can. Be sure to include all that you love and things that bring you joy. This is called setting a condition. This will set up boundaries for you, and will allow only these chosen experiences to be a part of your life. These boundaries become a shield that wards off all things which are undesirable to you. The shield reflects what you are and what your will is to others on an unconscious level. Outside of the shield you may put what you are willing to experience by invitation only. An example would be a visit by a long lost relative, or criticism from friends, or people asking for handouts.
Armadillo waddles into January’s Capricorn energies. It is time to define your space. You may have been too willing to allow your home to become a bus station. You may find that you cannot say no, even when you know that you will have to cancel other plans to be obliging. This routine can get old in a hurry!
It may be time to ask yourself the following questions:
- Am I honoring the time I need for my personal enjoyment?
- Do others treat me like a doormat?
- Why do I always get upset when I’m taken for granted?
- Is there a reason for my being a “yes” person?
All of the answers to these questions relate to setting up boundaries. They help to show what you will do and what you won’t do. They show what is comforting and comfortable to you, and what is not. How you react in any circumstance has to do with your ability to become objective and tune into the environment and to others. You cannot be objective if you cannot tell where the other person’s personality stops and where yours begins. If you have set no boundaries, you become a sponge. It will seem as if all of the feelings in a room full of people are yours. Ask yourself if you are really feeling depressed or if this feeling really belongs to the person you are talking to? Then allow Armadillo’s armor to slice in-between, giving you back your sense of self.
JANUARY CRYSTAL—GARNET
Garnet: Strengthens, purifies, vitalizes and regenerates bodily systems, especially the bloodstream. Has strong connection with the Root Chakra. Balances hemispheres of the brain. Helps clear away stored up energies of anger, guilt, fear, resentment, jealousy. Cools a hot temper. Reduces stress and tensions in the body. Helps to bring in forgiveness and compassion. RUNE FOR JANUARY
DISRUPTION—Disruptive Natural Forces, Elemental Power, Hail
Hagalaz represents the urge to change. This Rune brings freedom, invention and liberation. The time of January energies of 2012 indicate a pressing need within the psyche to break free from constricting identification with material reality and to experience the world of archetypal mind.
Hagalaz is the Rune of elemental disruption, representing unaccountable weather conditions, sudden storms, winds and events beyond your control. The energies of January will be a time of Awakening although the form in which the awakening takes may vary for each one of us. Perhaps you will experience a gradual feeling of coming to your senses, as though you were emerging from a long sleep. Then again, the onset of power may be such as to rip away the fabric of what you previously knew as your reality, your security, your understanding of yourself, your work, your relationships and beliefs.
Be aware, however, that what operates here is not ultimately an outside force, not a situation of you at the mercy of the externals. Your own nature is creating what is happening and you are not without power in the situation. The inner strength you have funded until now in your life is your support and guide at a time when everything you’ve taken for granted is being challenged.
This time of January 2012 puts us all on notice! Severe changes are on the way! You may sustain loss or damage, a tree may fall on your home, your town may be hit by a tidal wave, or tornadoes, a relationship may fail, plans go wrong, a source of financial supply may dry up. Be forewarned! Be encouraged to understand and accept that what occurs is necessary, called for from somewhere within in your deepest self as a cry for a pressing need for soul growth.
There is nothing trivial about this RUNE. The more severe the disruption in your life, the more significant and timely the requirements for your growth. The term radical discontinuity best describes the action of this time, a Cycle of Runes at its most forceful. The Universe and your own Soul are demanding that you do, indeed, grow.
Don’t be afraid to make the leap or take the chance.

STARGAZING FOR CAPRICORN 2012

Happy New Year! Well, 2012 is finally here and has inspired more rumors, gossip and speculation than anything preceding it. Because of the astrological aspects, 2012 promises to be a highly unstable year. There is a need to remain flexible and this will extend into all areas of life from global economics to what kind of energy we use, to the kind of food we eat. 2012 is the year to hang on tight and roll with the punches!
The January 8th Full Moon in Cancer creates an absence of opportunity through most of January. The Moon is “transiting darkness.” Everything that looks likes it might be an opportunity is too short to be usable. It will be a very busy week and the perfect time to finish writing out your New Year’s resolutions.
The January 22nd New Moon in Aquarius brings a welcome for the Chinese New Year—The year of the Water Dragon. The Water Dragon symbolizes good fortune and power. Water calms the Dragon’s fiery temper, so 2012 is the year when powerful decisions can be made in a composed and rational manner.
