Owl medicine is symbolically associated with clairvoyance, astral projection, and magic, both black and white. Owl is called Night Eagle on several medicine wheels. Traditionally, Owl sits in the East, the place of illumination. Since time immemorial, humanity has been afraid of the night, the dark, the unseen – waiting fearfully for the first crack of dawn, welcoming the morning light. Conversely, night and Owl are friends.
Owl hunts its prey at night. Not only can Owl see in the dark, but it can also accurately pinpoint and identify any sound. This gives it a great advantage when seeking food. Owls are the night hunters. Some native people are fearful of the Owl and call its feathers “deceiver feathers”. An Owl’s feather is silent. You cannot hear Owl when it flies, but its prey definitely knows when it strikes, for its beak and talons are razor sharp.
Owl is oftentimes the medicine of sorcerers and witches. If Owl has come forth this month of July, 2024, you may be drawn into magical practices and perhaps beginning to explore the dark arts. There could be some strange world events, or silent but deadly and unexpected acts of aggression. You should be forewarned never to practice any black arts that may tap into and take away the energies of another person. Owl is the symbol for wisdom. Owl can see what others cannot. When others are deceived, Owl sees and knows what’s there.
Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, had a companion Owl on her shoulder which revealed secret truths to her. Owl could light up Athena’s blind side, enabling her to speak the whole truth as opposed to a half truth. Be assured that from now on, no one can deceive you about what they are doing, no matter how they try to disguise or hide it from you.
You may be a little frightening to be around, since so many others have ulterior motives which will be revealed to you. You can see right through them! You may frighten them and reflect their blindness, for you cannot be fooled. Owl medicine people know more about an individual’s inner life that that person knows about themselves.
This July, 2024— we are being asked to use our powers of keen insight and observation to look into some life situation. Owl is befriending you—and aiding you into seeing the truth. Owl can bring you messages in the night through dreams or meditation. Owl is preparing you to be open, flexible, and aware as we enter the summer months of 2024. Pay attention to these signals and omens. Although it could be a very difficult time period, with many quick, surprising and fast changes, the truth always brings us further enlightenment.

RUNE of the Month –
GROWTH
Re-Birth — A Birch Tree
Berkana is the Rune of the Life Process. It denotes fertility that promotes growth both symbolically and actually. This growth may occur in affairs of the world, family matters, or the relationship with one’s self and the Divine. This is a “leading to” Rune in that it is the seed planted that leads to blossoming and ripening.
What is called for here is going into things deeply, with care and awareness. This Rune is concerned with the power of influencing development and with the flow of beings which brings them into their new forms. Its action is gentle, penetrating, and pervasive.
First disperse your resistance, then accomplish the work. For this to happen, your Will must be clear and controlled. In regard to the issue, your motives must be correct. Any “dark corners” should be cleansed; this must be carried out diligently and sometimes with expert or professional help. Modesty, patience, fairness, and generosity are called for here. Do you possess these virtues?
Once resistance is dispersed and rectification carried out and seen to hold firm, then through steadfastness and the right attitude, the blossoming can occur. At times events or, more likely, aspects of character, may interfere with the growth of a new life and life process. You may feel dismay at failing to take the right action. But, rather than discouragement, what is called for in July 2024, is diligence. Examine what has taken place over the past six months, your role in it, your needs, and the needs of others. Are you placing your wants before the needs of others? Strip down, as you meditate, until you can identify the blocks to growth in the current situation. Then, penetrating gently, while imitating the wind.
You may be required to fertilize the ground again; to re-do something or re-think something, but with the correct preparation, growth is assured.
Don’t be afraid to make the leap or take the chance.

You join in the holiday festivities beginning on July 1st when the Sun favors Mars, Venus, and Saturn. Enthusiasm is high to celebrate, maybe including your birthday of you were born in early July. The New Moon on the 5th, attracts favorite family and friends. Good transits favor great discounts on good and services all month, including lodging and airfares. There’s nothing like getting bumped up to first class. Best to check the quality of food you order to make sure it’s been prepared correctly. Your work day could be extended when you discover a work document has missing information at month’s end.
Leo (7/23-8/22)
July brings celebrations and vacation time. Leo. While touring you may discover unexpected bargains at a local sale. Social events bring a variety of invitations your way. Allow yourself to let go of workaholic tendencies for a few days. Plan gatherings with siblings and their children. A mid-month cookout with neighbors includes enjoyable games and contests designed to entertain guests if all ages. Watch out for unexpected rainy weather and household plumbing problems. You may have to take a day off for repairs at month’s end.
Virgo (8/23-9/22)
