ANT: PATIENCE
On tiny Ant
Your patience grows,
Like the sands of time.
Can I learn to be like you?

Ant can carry a leaf over hundreds of miles just to get it back to the anthill. Ants in Africa will strip a forest bare when food is scarce, if it takes a year. Ant’s medicine is the strategy of patience. Ant is a builder, like Beaver, is aggressive, like badger, has stamina like Elk, scrutiny like Mouse, and give-away like Turkey.
Every Ant in an anthill is part of the ant’s group mind, as all of the ants work for the Queen Ant and the hive. Self-sacrifice is a part of Ant’s medicine. Greater than Ant’s other medicines, however, is patience.
Ant people are active, community minded folks who see the greater future needs of their town. Ant people are planners, like Squirrel, and are content to see their dreams being built a little at a time. In today’s society, that is a rare quality.
In the desert, one type of Ant will burrow a conical hole with its apex at the bottom. The Ant will cover itself and patiently wait to see if some unsuspecting insect will fall in. As the sand crumbles, the prey eventually falls to the bottom, only to find Ant’s open jaws. Patience does have its rewards!
Ant people have a knowing about the sweet victory at the end of the line. There is never a concern about going without if they are late to the opening of a sale. If what they want is sold out, they are certain that something equal or better will be available.
During the month of August, use your Ant medicine to go slowly and deliberately, content in knowing that what is yours will come to you. This knowing is good medicine. It shows a trust in that universe always provides.
Ant has come to represent the Leo energies of August 2021. It brings us a time to trust a little in some life situation. You may have forgotten that you will always receive that which you need, at the time you need it most. If it is not on the horizon, or just around the next anthill, you may need to use some strategy. How can you put to use your power of creation until it arrives, whatever “it” means to you at this time?
Ant is always working for the good of the whole. Are you? It is in harmony with the Rune of Wholeness. Be assured that if you are on the right track, the Universe always wants the best for you. Remember during this positive time that goodness will come and you will be provided for.

Isa represents the Rune that focus on the winter of the Spiritual part of life. You may find yourself entangled in a situation to whose implications you are, in effect, blind. You may be powerless to do anything except surrender, submit, even sacrifice some long-cherished desire. Be patient for this is the fallow period that precedes a rebirth
Positive accomplishment is unlikely now. There is a freeze on useful activity, as all of your plans are on hold. You may be experiencing an unaccustomed drain on your energy and wonder why. The chill wind is reaching you over the ice floes of old outmoded habits.
Trying to hold on can result in shallowness of feeling, a sense of being out of touch with life, out of phase. Seek to discover what it is that you are holding onto that keeps this condition in effect, and let it go. Shed, release and cleanse away the old. That will bring on the thaw. Usually Isa requires a sacrifice of the personal, the I.
Yet, there is no reason for anxiety. Submit and be still. What you are experiencing is not necessarily the result of your actions, your habits, but the conditions of the time, against which you can do nothing. What has been full must be empty. What has increased must decrease. This is the way of heaven and earth. To surrender is to display courage and wisdom.
During this time do not expect to rely on help or friendly support. Exercise caution in your isolation, and do not stubbornly persist in attempting to work your will. Remain mindful that the seed of the new is present in the shell of the old, the seed of unrealized potential, the seed of good. Your conduct now will bring the new fruit to ripeness, or cause it to rot on the vine. Trust your own process, your Blessed Higher Self and watch for the signs of Spring that eventually come.
Don’t be afraid to make the leap or take the chance.
