ANIMAL: SNAKE
SNAKE, come crawling,

Snake medicine is very rare. This initiation involves experiencing and living through multiple snake bites, which allows one to transmute all poisons, be they mental, physical, spiritual, or emotional. The power of snake medicine is the power of creation, for it embodies sexuality, psychic energy, alchemy, reproduction and ascension.
The transmutation of the life-death-rebirth cycle is exemplified by the shedding of Snake’s skin. It is the energy of wholeness, cosmic consciousness, and the ability to experience anything willingly and without resistance. It is the knowledge that all things are equal in creation, and that those things which might be experienced as poison can be eaten, ingested, integrated, and transmuted if one has the proper state of mind. Thoth, the Atlantian, who later returned as Hermes and was the Father of Alchemy, used the symbology of two snakes intertwining around a sword to represent healing. Complete understanding and acceptance of the male and female energies within each organism creates a melding of the two into one, thereby producing divine energy.
Snake medicine teaches you on a personal level that you are a divine being. Through accepting all aspects of your life, you can bring about the transmutation of fire medicine. This fire energy, when functioning on the material plane, creates passion, desire, procreation, and physical vitality. On the emotional plane it becomes ambition, creation, resolution, and dreams. On the mental plane it becomes intellect, power, charisma, and leadership. When this snake energy reaches the spiritual plane, it becomes wisdom, understanding, wholeness, and connection to the Great Spirit. May, 2018 represents the symbol of the Snake Medicine. It is time to transmute some thought, action, or desire so that wholeness may be achieved. This is a heavy magic, but remember, magic is no more than a change in consciousness. Hagalaz represents the urge to change. This Rune brings freedom, invention and liberation. The time of Virgo energies 2011 indicate a pressing need within the psyche to break free from constricting identification with material reality and to experience the world of archetypal mind.
Hagalaz is the Rune of elemental disruption, representing unaccountable weather conditions, sudden storms, winds and events beyond your control. The energies of Virgo will be a time of Awakening although the form in which the awakening takes may vary for each one of us. Perhaps you will experience a gradual feeling of coming to your senses, as though you were emerging from a long sleep. Then again, the onset of power may be such as to rip away the fabric of what you previously knew as your reality, your security, your understanding of yourself, your work, your relationships and beliefs.
Be aware, however, that what operates here is not ultimately an outside force, not a situation of you at the mercy of the externals. Your own nature is creating what is happening and you are not without power in the situation. The inner strength you have funded until now in your life, is your support and guide at a time when everything you’ve taken for granted is being challenged.
This time of PISCES 2017 puts us all on notice! Severe changes are on the way! You may sustain loss or damage. A tree may fall on your home, your town may be hit by a tidal wave, or tornadoes, a relationship may fail, plans go wrong, a source of financial supply may dry up. Be forewarned! Be encouraged to understand and accept that what occurs is necessary, called for in your deepest self as a cry for a pressing need for growth.
There is nothing trivial about this RUNE. The more severe the disruption in your life, the more significant and timely the requirements for your growth. If you don’t have plans to travel, take classes, or expand your horizons it’s time to get busy. In May you’ll crave to take a break from routine through something or someone new and exciting. Expect your money situation to grow, expand and change over the next seven years after Uranus moves into Taurus after the 15th.
Taurus (4/21-5/21)
Mercury moves into Taurus on May 13th, so any financial transactions your dealing with should go quite well. Even though money is one of your specialties, Taurus, you may have to table discussions until month’s end. If you’re not sure about your next move, talk with a trusted advisor or elder and don’t make any decisions until after the 20th. You’ve never been known for rushing so don’t start now.
Gemini (5/21-6/20)
You’ve been working hard, Gemini but that doesn’t mean you can’t relax and let go once in awhile. A friend’s invite for a dinner party at their house could make this an unforgettable evening. Come on —go for it! Mid-month you could feel that you’ve been seeing someone who isn’t quite honest. You may be right, but do some digging before you dismiss them. If you’re right, just walk away.
Cancer (6/21-7/22)
As May opens be sure that you’ve completed all of your work and finished up, because after the 19th Fun arrives. Enjoy it guilt free. An old friend or lover reaches out to you from a distance. Letting this person back into your world could be stressful. Don’t allow yourself to be pressured into anything you don’t want to do.
Leo (7/23-8/22)
May brings a time to pull back on your social life, Leo. Time to stay home and be with family. Mid-month you could receive the pay hike you deserve. Make a budget and cut back on your generosity. Allow someone else to treat you to lunch for a change. Expect some sudden changes with career matters after the 15th.
Virgo (8/23-9/22)
If you’ve been looking for a new job or even a temp position to keep your mind active, May brings this to you. You may need to talk some things over with a friend mid-month. Wait until the 18th and you’ll find a lot has changed— for the better. If you’re applying for financial help this month Venus, your planetary purse strings, can make it happen for you after the 15th. Libra (9/23-10/22)
If you’ve been trying to schedule some quality time with family and friends, mid-May is an excellent time to do so. It’s good to spend time with light-hearted people who can lift your spirits. Scorpio (10/ 23-11/22)
You won’t have too much time to relax through May with so much to do, Scorp. Look to Memorial Day Weekend to kick back and relax. The New Moon in Taurus lands in your 7th House of partnerships, possibly bringing you the Soul Mate you desire. Go out there and mingle and perhaps you’ll meet someone delicious. When Mars and Uranus square off on the 16th watch for irritating upsets, your driving, and a mis-directed temper tantrum. Easy now!
Sagittarius (11/23-12/21)
May brings you attention to finances and you may be putting in a lot of overtime, Sag. The good news is that mid-month you will be introduced to someone who is experienced in this field and can help you in a very big way. Capricorn (12/22-1/19)
May brings the desire for a road trip to a luscious and relaxing place. Sure you’ve been busy and overwhelmed with extra work, but a break is just what’s need to regroup and gain more perspective. It wouldn’t be surprising to find that a friend has turned into a love potential. Finances perk up and money that you thought you’d never see again just might turn up. Aquarius (1/20-2/18)
May brings a chance to make up for lost time and do some serious partying. You may want to disappear for good, but hold tight. Yes, you’ve been through a lot but handle the responsibilities with a level head, then take off into the sunset for some great times. You may have to lash out at someone who’s offensive and aggressive mid-month. Be careful here Aquarius. If a family member offers you funds around the 22nd, don’t allow your pride to refuse the help. Pisces (2/19-3/20)
May brings along a sense of humor and enjoyment with family members and friends. You’re either hunting for your Soul Mate or staying at home and snuggling close. Home and garden decisions may need some decisions. Be sure you both agree before making changes. If you can, avoid any purchase of electronics this month, as Uranus changes signs, and it’s better to wait. Both career and family matters call to you over the Memorial Day holiday.
