THE RED ROSE OF LOVE
Now withdraw into the rose center of your heart. Meditate on the perfect red rose. The rose of twelve petals lies at the temple of your heart. It’s petals are opening to the sun – every petal gleaming and glowing with the light. There is an ineffable light in the heart of the rose.
Become enfolded within these petals, in a soft pearly light. You are within the temple of the rose, the Sun pours down into the heart… opening up the doorway to all empowering, unconditional Love. You are a part of this radiance and one with all of humanity, within the heart of the ROSE.
Think of Amma, and meditate on the red rose, the flower of God. You are looking at this rose from afar, as something outside of you. But it is within your heart, as is Amma, always! The petals of this divine rose are slowly opening as you chant your mantras to Amma, opening to receive the golden warmth of sunshine and power from above. There is a Light within the heart as well music coming to you from the rose. The Light from above and the Light from the rose blend as one…as you swoon into the bliss of Divine Love.

The Sun has entered Aquarius
Aquarius, you are the Eleventh Sign of the Zodiac. After the establishment and structure of the energies of Capricorn, it is your job to make sure that these structures blend, mix and are flexible with the needs of the people they are meant to serve. In the Northern Hemisphere, yours is the month of the deepest part of winter, which can be most unrelenting. The cold, dry air crackels with electricity. Yet the light of Spring is returning, most perceptibly, along with signs of life, although subtle, which stirs our hopes that Spring will arrive soon. In the Western Zodiac yours is the sign of the Water Bearer, although his jugs were more likely to be filled with air, which is your element. In early Babylonian times your constellation was called the “Giant,” suggesting a great being who knows all and sees all. You are likely to be aware of any political situation since you represent group dynamics. You may now value your role as a detached outsider, especially if you feel there is corruption with group leaders. However, you will be completely devoted to a group that fulfills its stated objectives – when the objectives are those you firmly believe in. Your beliefs generally center around the rights of individuals and the advancement of knowledge. You also tend to assert your own individuality, even if it means working against your own interests. (It is said that those with an Aquarian Moon are most cold and detached.) Your greatest shortcoming is an automatic reaction against any rules, even those that are for your true benefit. Above all, your strong freedom seeking instincts will force you to stand up for yourself as well as for the rights of others. Used wisely, this drive can serve both yourself and those you influence.
Your changes aren’t over yet, Aquarius, but the pressure has shifted, and you’ll find that the new you is ready for “prime time.” The year ahead for you is a time of transition. The Uranus-Pluto square the began in June of 2012 has been quietly controlling things in the background. However, the last aspect, on March 16th will bring us the finale. The first one and the last on out of the seven are usually the most powerful. After the spring, this influence will fade slowly, draping behind the scattered and confused aftermath to be cleaned up, cleared away, and most important, restructured. Because of these “finishing up energies,” you have a chance to take control of those areas of your life where you have found yourself struggling. Looking back to review your problems is certainly tempting, but looking ahead will show you the many new possibilities for exploring and expanding your boundaries.
Jupiter is moving through your opposite sign of Leo, and moving into Virgo on August 12th, urges you to settle, early in 2015, long-term marital and partnership issues that may have gotten off-track then look for new ways or earning and saving after August. Saturn’s switch between Sagittarius and Scorpio tempts you to look back in a different way, search for remakes, do-overs, an decisions you’ve made regarding a career or other efforts to increase your financial flow and status. But here as well, looking forward is best.
Neptune, as it has for the past few years, brings up the rear. He’s like the guy who sweeps up after the parade. Yes, he’s still occasionally confusing your finances, but if you take advantage of Jupiter’s help from August onward, you’ll find creative and lucrative ways to overcome this. You’ve got a good year ahead of you Aquarius, but, as always, the best always comes when you set your own goals and move toward them in your own way.

ANIMAL: SQUIRREL — Gathering
Squirrel, you have gathered

Squirrel teaches us to plan ahead for the winter when the trees are bare and the nuts have long since disappeared. Squirrel medicine can come in many forms, as this furry creature is very diverse in nature. The erratic behavior of Squirrel has bested many a forlorn hunter, and it thus stands to reason that there are benefits to being able to circle a branch at lightening speed. This erratic behavior of Squirrel can also get nerve-wracking if you are dealing with anyone who has Squirrel medicine. Trying to calm them down enough to accomplish something may drive you nuts.
The driving power of Squirrel medicine – similar to Aquarius energies in high gear – is a great gift. It teaches you how to gather and store your energy for times of need. It teaches you to reserve something for future use, whether it be a judgment, opinion, savings account, candles, or extra food and water. To put it into a nutshell, Squirrel is the Boy Scout or Girl Scout of the animal kingdom. They are always prepared.
At this unstable time in our world of changing times and fortunes, it is the wise person who prepares for the future. Our prophesies have all spoken of this new millennium and the changes to come. Squirrel is a friendly medicine to have, in the light of a possible future of rainy days. The next few years could be most difficult for many of us. The message at the time of Aquarian energies of 2015, is to be prepared, but don’t go nuts with it. Love yourself enough to gather the goods that will meet your needs in a time of scarcity, even if that time never comes. Especially energy needs for the winter months ahead.
Squirrel has come into our lives at this time of Aquarian energy – the time of continual gathering for the winter freeze. We are all being told to honor our futures by readying ourselves for change. The message is to lighten your load if you have gathered too much of the things in life that do not serve you. These things can include thoughts, worries, pressures, stresses, jobs, worn-out relationships, or gadgets that have been broken for years. In understanding the balance involved in gathering, you need to look at the idea of circulating the stock of that which you have gathered over the years. Call the nearest thrift store and give the gadgets or unwanted clothes to someone who can benefit from them. If something no longer works for you, or it has been discarded for more than two years, it is time to let it go.
Squirrel has another lesson to give to you which can aid you if you observe what is obvious, and which can prepare you for anything. It has to do with the safe place in which to put your gatherings. This safe place is an untroubled heart and mind, and that which is gathered, is put into this place to gain wisdom and caring. These energies gathered, through quiet time and reflective meditation, will set your heart and mind free, so you will know that all will be taken care of in its own time. Apply this energy to your fears about our coming future, and the fears will vanish. Replaced will be guidance and wisdom.

RUNE of the Month – ANSUZ
SIGNALS
The Messenger Rune
Ansuz is the first of the twelve Runes that make up the Cycle of Self-Transformation. These Runes focus directly upon the mechanism of self-change. The keynote in February of 2015 is receiving: messages, signals, gifts. Even a timely warning may be seen as a gift. When the Messenger Rune brings us sacred knowledge, one is truly blessed.
The message may be that of a new life unfolding. New lives begin with new connections, surprising linkages that direct us to new pathways. Take pains to be especially aware and conscious during meetings, visits, chance encounters, particularly with persons wiser than yourself. A sense of new family solidarity invests Ansuz.
Through association with the Norse god Loki, Mercury overshadows this Rune. In mythology a strange, androgynous figure, keeper of the keys of knowledge, Mercury carried messages between the gods and between gods and humanity. In him is symbolized the urge to integrate unconscious motive with conscious recognition. This Rune is the focus for February 2015, telling us that the connection with the Divine is at hand.
Signals – the Ansuz Rune – brings a sign to explore the depths, the foundations of life, and to experience the inexhaustible wellspring of the Divine in your nature. You are reminded that you must draw first from the well to nourish and give to yourself. Then there will be more than enough to nourish others.
You may well be concerned over what appears to be failed communication, lack of clarity or awareness either in your past history or in a present situation. Equally, you may feel concern because of difficulties that inhibit you from accepting what is being offered. Then again a sense of futility, of wasted motion, of a fruitless journey may dismay you. Remember, however, that this is one of the Cycle Runes. What happens in your life this winter is timely in your life process. If the well is clogged, this is the month to clear out the waste. Make your decisions and go forward without fear. Trust the Universe to put you in the right direction. Everything will settle by late spring.
