CHANGE IS A COMING—BUT YOUR LIFE CAN MAKE ALL THINGS NEW
As you accept with patience and surrender the difficulties you encounter throughout life on a daily basis, so will you find flowing into you through the Crown Chakra, a light or life-force which will remove all anxiety and pain, making each day a new experience. This comes to each one of us gently, slowly, as we open ourselves from within to the gifts of Spirit. Occasionally you will become aware of a glow within your heart, or of a light feeling, and you will become aware of the harmony which is shaping your life right now through the power of the Divine.
If you direct the right thoughts to those around you, and begin to put the action of the Law of Love in front of any circumstances you may find yourself in, you will find that these troubles and upsets will gradually smooth themselves out. Events will begin to work more harmoniously for you and you will begin to feel, “God is very good to me.” You will begin to realize that within you, as you practice your daily meditations, there is a power building, a feeling of Love, which is helping you actively. This will guide you towards the desired balance of Love, Peace and Harmony within your heart.
This glow within your heart which brings to you such sweet happiness and joy may remain for a few minutes, a few hours, or a few days – and then may disappear. Never fear for slowly this power and gratitude will increase in you. As your life continues, you will experience this renewing energy more often, for you are Ascending up a spiral of light and vibration which will eventually bring you, as a Daughter or Son of God, into the kingdom of eternal light and bliss.

October brings a beneficial outcome to your endeavors. However, there is a warning not to allow this temporary state to “go to your head.” Watch your Ego so that you do not enrage family members or suffer from anyone else’s jealousy. Become a fly on the wall, still like the Opossum, and watch others as you move upward with your own plans, in your own quiet way.

LIBRA energies bring…Airy Libra is the only Stargazing sign that is not represented by a human or an animal symbol. The scales of justice symbolize the need to balance feminine and masculine principles and reminds us to apply the laws that enable diverse people to mingle amicably. This happy equilibrium can flower only if harmony and tranquility are found and well cultivated. To achieve Librian balance in this autumn cycle, reinforced decisiveness is needed over all other attributes. Try to discover your treasure cove, your place of calmness, of inner serenity and artistic genius, but avoid the shadowy pathways of idle fantisies and superficial dodges from responsibility. Living close to your loved ones, building strong family ties as well as close friendships, will give you peace of mind that an external world cannot guarantee.
Home, family and the domestic scene are your major themes for October 2013, along with a possible new home or refurbished one, an active social life and opportunities to shine on the job. Jupiter is moving through Cancer and affects the House of home and the Mother. This fortunate planet will prompt you to relocate, remodel, or redecorate, or rent or buy a new home. You’ll also enjoy many happy moments with family while entertaining your friends. Include potential networking contacts in this mix because one or more of them will come in handy later on in 2013 or as 2014 opens, to advance your career aims. Also, you may have a desire to improve your domestic skills; you might develop an interest in gourmet cooking or delve into interior decorating, refinishing furniture, or gardening. Whatever you choose to do for your home now, it is sure to bring you many hours of satisfaction and pleasure.

ANIMAL—The Opossum—DIVERSION
Opossum…Roll over!
Are you really dead?
Or just playing possum?
Was it something I said?
The Opossum greatest form of protection is to roll over and play dead. In doing this, Opossum confuses many a predator into believing that the game is over. Oftentimes the confused rival walks away or looks in the other direction for a moment, and the Opossum runs to safety.
Opossum medicine uses a great deal of strategy. If all else fails, Opossum plays dead. It has the ability to fight with its claws and teeth, but rarely uses this form of protection. Instead, the supreme strategy of diversion is constantly employed when things get a little hard to handle. Opossum has developed an act that would receive the Academy Award in the animal kingdom. The musk of the death scent is excreted as well, adding to the master play that sends enemies on many trails of confusion.
As Opossum has turned up for the vibration of October 2013, you are being asked to use some form of strategy in a present situation. Rely upon your instincts for the best way out of a tight corner. If you have to pretend to be apathetic or unafraid, do it! Oftentimes if you refuse to struggle or show that hurtful words bother you, your taunter will see no further fun to the game. Warriors have used Opossum medicine for centuries, playing dead when the enemy nears and outnumbers them. Then, in a flash, when the enemy is least expecting it, the war cry is heard. The fright of this serves to further confuse the unsuspecting opposition. Victory is sweet when the strategy is one of mental as well as physical prowess.
Opossum is relaying to you that you are to expect the unexpected and be clever in achieving your victory. This could be a victory over a bothersome salesman or nosey neighbor. In essence, Opossum is beckoning you to use your brain, your sense of drama, and surprise attack—to leap over some barrier to your progress.

OPAL: Brings tears to those who wear it, unless born in the month of October; then it brings good fortune and luck. Stimulates the pineal and pituitary glands. Aids eyesight. Emotional balancer. RUNE FOR OCTOBER
RETREAT
Separation—Inheritance
Othila represents real property, acquisition, and benefits. It seems strange to say, but the benefits you receive, the inheritance may be derived from something you must give up. This can be particularly difficult when that which you are called upon to give up or abandon is part of your background and your cultural inheritance. For then you must look closely at what, until now, you have proudly claimed as your birthright. Whether it is your attachment to your position in society, to the work you do, or even the beliefs about your own nature, the separation called for now will free you to become more truly who you are.
Othila is the Rune of the separating of paths. Old skins must be shed, outmoded relationships discarded. This Rune has appeared in Libra energies for October 2013. A peeling away is now called for. This is the Rune of radical service!
The proper action here is submission, and, quite probably, retreat. Retreat in the sense of reserve in your conduct; for knowing when to leave may be the smartest thing that anyone can learn. Know when to retreat, and have the firmness of character to carry it out.
Take pains not to be mechanical or unaware of what is happening around you. This is not a time to be bound by old conditions and old authority. When going through changes, release and letting go, ask yourself what feels right for you and act according to the Light and inner direction you possess now in your life. Because you may be called upon to undertake a radical departure from old ways, total honesty is required. Otherwise, through negligence or refusal to see clearly, you may cause pain to others as well as damage to yourself.
Not rigidity but flow is the proper attitude at this time. And yet you must wait for the Universe to act. Othila‚ October’s Rune, reminds us that we do without doing, and everything gets done.
Don’t be afraid to make the leap or take the chance.
