The Sun has entered LEO

The fiery sign of LEO has an inside track on love, power and the Universe. One of the best routes you can take is heart-focused meditation. Anything you can do to enhance the purity of your ideas and creativity will bring you rewards. Developing and using your creative abilities creates an energy flow within you that triggers that same flow to others when they encounter the work you have done. Music, acting and temporal forms of artistic expression that involve an audience as you create, brings you an especially potent technique. Engaging in sports activities brings joy and enthusiasm and at its best, brings playfulness to both spectators and players. Taking on a leadership role will challenge you to bring forth your best, Leo. Working and playing with children can also trigger spontaneity within for the benefit of everyone involved. Children respond the best when someone is able to touch their minds and hearts to draw them out. Their relative openness, especially when young, will allow you to open your heart as well. No matter what you do, if you realize that by giving to others you give to and improve yourself, you will always be on the right track.

AUGUST brings Mercury retrograde for three weeks. It’s organization time. Based on the Rune (Initiation) and Animal (Crow)  chosen as the vibration – August, 2011 brings difficult decisions, travel, moving, and lazy afternoons. The truth comes out and serious matters must be faced and handled! However, it’s still the long, hot, dog days of summer. This is a great time for Mercury to retrograde because you didn’t want to do anything anyway. Go to the beach or a lake, relax, and plan your fall projects. Clean out the basement and have a garage sale.

ANIMAL: THE CROW

SPIRITUAL LAW

Crow…
Are you cawing,
So I may know the secret of balance,
Within my Soul?

Your sacred “caw”
Just to remind me,
Of the Universal Law?

Crow has always been fascinated with her own shadow. She kept looking for it, scratching at it, pecking at it, until one day her shadow woke up and became alive. (One’s shadow is one’s dark side, the part of us that remembers past-lives and can soul travel.) Then the crow ate her shadow. Crow is Dead Crow now. (The expression Eat Crow comes form this ancient knowledge of Crow’s fate.)

Dead Crow is the Left-Handed Guardian. If you look deeply into Crow’s eyes, you will have found the gateway into the supernatural. Crow knows the unknowable mysteries of creation and is the Keeper of Sacred Law.

Since Crow is the keeper of sacred law, Crow can bend the laws of the physical universe and shape shift. This ability is rare and unique. Few can adapt easily in today’s world, and fewer still have mastered Crow’s art of shape shifting. This art includes doubling, or being in two places at the same time consciously, taking another physical form, or becoming the fly on the wall to observe what is happening far away.

The Europeans that came to Turtle Island were named the boat people by slow turtle. Even with the knowledge of alchemy possessed by certain boat people, none had ever seen the powerful shape shifting of Shaman who utilized Crow medicine. Many people were frightened by what appeared to be animals coming into their camps or dwellings, to discern their medicine. Crow medicine people are masters of illusion.

All sacred text are under the protection of Crow. Creator’s Book of Laws or Book of Seals is bound in Crow feathers. Crow feathers tell of spirit made flesh. Crow is also the protector of the ogallah or ancient records, perhaps stored in Egypt.

The Sacred Law Belts beaded by native women long before the boat people or Europeans came to the continent of  North America, contain knowledge of the Great Spirit’s laws, and are kept in the Black Lodges, the lodges of women. The law that states that all things are born of woman is signified by the Crow.

Children are taught to behave according to the rules of a particular culture. Most orthodox religious systems create a mandate concerning acceptable behavior within the context of worldly affairs. Do thus and so, and you will go to heaven. Do thus and so, and you will go to hell. Different formulas for salvation are demanded by each true faith.

Human Law is not the same as Sacred Law. More so than any other medicine, Crow sees that the physical world, and even the spiritual world, as humanity interpreted them, are an illusion. There are billions of worlds. There are an infinitude of creatures. Great Spirit is within all. If an individual obeys Crow’s perfect laws, as given by the Creator, than at death he or she dies a good medicine death—going on into the next incarnation with a clear memory of his or her past.

Crow represents the Omen of Change—and during these hot and dry August 2011 Leo energies—that is what to expect. Crow lives in the void and has no sense of time. The Ancient Chiefs tell us that Crow sees simultaneously the three fates – past, present and future. Crow merges light and darkness, physical and shadow, seeing both inner and outer reality.

August, 2011, will be the time for us to pause and reflect—and to show others how we see the Laws of Great Spirit in relation to the Laws of Humanity. Crow medicine signifies a first hand knowledge of a higher order of right and wrong that of that which is indicated by the laws of human culture. With Crow medicine – one speaks in a powerful voice when addressing issues that for you seem out of harmony, out of balance, out of whack, or unjust.

Remember, Crow looks at the world with first one eye, and then the other, cross-eyed. In the Mayan culture, crossed-eyes had the privilege and duty of looking into the future. You must put aside your fears of being a voice in the wilderness and caw the shots as you see them. For one and all—for the betterment of the world and all that dwells within! Caw – Natural Law – Caw – Natural Law!

As you learn to look within first and allow your personal integrity to be your guide, your sense of feeling alone will vanish. Your personal will can then emerge so that you stand in your truth. The prime path of true Crow people says to be mindful of your opinions and actions. Be willing to walk your talk, speak your truth, know your life’s mission, and balance past, present, and future into the NOW. Shape shift that old reality and become your future self. Allow the bending of physical laws to aid in creating the shape shift of world peace.

Honor the past as your teacher, honor the present as your creation, honor the future as your inspiration. Call on Crow to shift your own creation into your new reality.

AUGUST CRYSTAL: PERIDOT — ONYX

PERIDOT: Balances the glandular system. Aids in tissue regeneration. Has beneficial influences on the heart, pancreas, spleen, liver, adrenals and purifies the body. Strengthens bloodstream. Overall balance of the mind and body. Aligns the subtle bodies and increases intuitive awareness. Reduces stress. Stimulates the mind and thinking process. Accelerates personal growth. Opens new pathways to new opportunities. Helpful when going through sudden change or crisis.

ONYX: Relieves stress and removes negative energies. Balances the male/female polarities. Strengthens bone marrow. Aids in detachment. Enhances emotional balance and self-control. Creates desire for higher inspiration and brings it in. Works with the seven chakras and our attitudes, depending on the color of the onyx.

RUNE of the Month – INITIATION

PERTH — INITIATION – Something Hidden—A Secret Matter

Initiation points to that which is beyond our frail manipulative powers. This Rune is on the side of Heaven, the Unknowable, and has associations with the Phoenix, that mystical bird that consumes itself in the fire and then rises from its own ashes. Its ways are secret and hidden.

Deep inner transformation forces are at work here. Yet what is achieved is not easily or readily shared. An integrity is involved that may be masked, disguised or secret. After all, becoming whole, the means of how to achieve this, is a profound and mystic secret.

On the side of the earthly or mundane, there may well be surprises; unexpected gains are quite possible. On the side of human nature, this Rune is symbolized by the flight of the eagle. Soaring flight, free from entanglement, lifting yourself above the endless ebb and flow of ordinary life to acquire a broader vision—all this is indicated for the time of August in 2011. This is the Rune of question.

Another in the Cycle Runes, Perth signifies an intense aspect of initiation. Nothing external matters here, except as it shows you its inner reflection. This Rune is connected with the deepest stratum of nature and being, which is the bedrock on which your fate is founded. If need be, let go of everything, no exceptions, no exclusions. Nothing less than renewal of the Spirit is at stake.

There is a warning here of expecting to much, or expecting things to continue on in the ordinary way. For the old way has come to an end, and you cannot repeat the patterns of the past and not expect to suffer. This Rune puts you on notice to call in your scattered energies and concentrate on your own life in this moment, your own requirements for growth. More important Initiation teaches you not to focus on the outcome of your actions and desires. Do not bind yourself to the memory of past achievements which will rob you of a true present. Staying in the moment and acting out of the now is the only time when self-change can be realized.

You can be of help to many others, as well as your loved ones, with one minute of silence at 7:30 pm EST every Sunday evening anywhere in the world. Gemini (5/21-6/20)

August brings a new energy and an upbeat frame of mind. However, because Mercury is retrograde most of August, progress will be slow. This gives you bonus time to rethink personal plans and fall projects so you are set to go as September opens.

Cancer (6/21-7/22)

In August Mercury retrogrades between the 2nd and 24th. Be prepared for delays and mix-ups concerning mail, short turn trips, money, and your oldest son. Pay bills early, carefully check statements for errors, while confirming dates, times, and places.

Leo (7/23-8/22)

August brings another Mercury retrograde, between the 2nd and 26th. Life becomes frustrating when projects stall despite your attempts to get things moving. Stay positive and use this time to review and revise before making decisions.

Virgo (8/23-9/22)

Sagittarius (11/23-12/21)

Pisces (2/19-3/20)

August brings another Mercury retrograde period. Mix-up and mis-communication will affect close relationships and your daily routine. The Air Signs
Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Jupiter makes a wonderful aspect to Pluto this week, which may coincide with a realization about your life path and purpose. You seem to be guided by spiritual forces, and this week they’re showing you how you can best serve your local community and the world. Get ready for an unexpected windfall, an inheritance, or money from another source, such as a tax rebate. If you run your own business, you may be offered the chance of a partnership that could make you both a lot of money. The Earth Signs
Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn

The movement of Jupiter through Taurus brings endless possibilities, especially if you want to learn a new skill, get a degree, work abroad, or travel. You feel so much more confident about trusting your gut, but you could do even better. Great things are possible once you decide to take the initiative. There’s the possibility of a budding romance, but if you miss out on that, then from Thursday on you’re going to be involved in some passionate action. As Jupiter aspects Pluto, you may be given the chance of a lifetime. All you need to do is take it. Don’t hesitate. Your love life looks good, as friendships may turn romantic. Passion and intrigue are also possible. As Jupiter aspects Pluto, it also opposes Venus, so the cosmos is bringing you someone you may fall in love with at first sight. You might even fall for your long-term lover all over again, since you now see him or her through different eyes.

Your Love Week—Earth Signs: Maybe you’re looking in the right place at the right time. Maybe someone finds you or a friend hooks you up. Be open to possibilities. Everybody has a past, so don’t allow those details to get in the way. Keep parties and events on your calendar, whether you’re going alone or planning a fun date. It sometimes feels gawky and teenage to say, ”Hey, I really, really like you,” but sometimes you have to speak your truth. Innocent fun might turn into guilty pleasure. But don’t try to map out every little detail. Leave things to luck and chance. It’s always more exciting when you don’t know what’s coming next. MEDITATION

As you accept with patience and surrender the difficulties you encounter throughout life on a daily basis, so will you find flowing into you through the Crown Chakra, a light or life-force which will remove all anxiety and pain, making each day a new experience. This comes to each one of us gently, slowly, as we open ourselves from within to the gifts of Spirit. Occasionally you will become aware of a glow within your heart, or of a light feeling, and you will become aware of the harmony which is shaping your life right now through the power of the Divine.

If you direct the right thoughts to those around you, and begin to put the action of the Law of Love in front of any circumstances you may find yourself in, you will find that these troubles and upsets will gradually smooth themselves out. Events will begin to work more harmoniously for you and you will begin to feel, “God is very good to me.” You will begin to realize that within you, as you practice your daily meditations, there is a power building, a feeling of Love, which is helping you actively. This will guide you towards the desired balance of Love, Peace and Harmony within your heart.

This glow within your heart which brings to you such sweet happiness and joy may remain for a few minutes, a few hours, or a few days – and then may disappear. Never fear for slowly this power and gratitude will increase in you. As your life continues, you will experience this renewing energy more often, for you are Ascending up a spiral of light and vibration which will eventually bring you, as a Daughter or Son of God, into the kingdom of eternal light and bliss.

Think of Ammachi, and meditate on the yellow golden rose, the flower of God. You are looking at this rose from afar, as something outside of you. But it is within your heart, as is Amma, always! The petals of this divine rose are slowly opening as you chant your mantras to Amma, opening to receive the golden warmth of sunshine and power from above. There is a light within the heart as well music coming to you from the beautiful summer rose. The light from above and the light from the rose blend as one…as you swoon into the bliss of Divine Love.

The Sun has entered CANCER

The Sun is crowned with maternal power as the Summer Solstice ushers you into the mystical depths of Cancer—the Moon Child. Draw from the fiery strength of Aries, the dedication of Taurus, and the liveliness of Gemini to build a substantial foundation in 2011 into yourself—creating an inner evolution. Strengthened by the first of the three Water signs, July is a good period to give your feelings full rein to open the doorway to the Sixth Sense or the intuitive part of yourself. Family, finances and the domestic scene will be crucial this month, but do not fall prey to excessive sentimentality or regressive behavior. We are all being tested and will be going through some very difficult times over the next five months or so. Regardless of your Sun Sign, this promises to be a transitional phase to emphasize your devotional and creative Spirit while nurturing yourself and your loved ones.

RUNE of the Month – Unknowable

Blank is the end, blank is the beginning. This is the Rune of total trust and should be taken as exciting evidence of your most immediate contact with your own true destiny which, time and again, rises like the phoenix from the ashes we call fate.

Odin can portend a death. But a death is usually symbolic, and may relate to any part of your life as you are living it now. Relinquishing control is the ultimate challenge for the Spiritual Warrior.

Here the Unknowable informs you that it is in motion in your life. In that blankness is held your undiluted potential! At the same time pregnant and empty, it comprehends the totality of being, all that is to be actualized.

With the Blank Rune appearing in July of 2011, the energies will bring to the surface our deepest fears as the problems and results of the lies and cover ups coming out of the White House. Will I fail? Will I be abandoned? Will it all be taken away? Will I make it through this upsetting time? Yet, within that blankness, within the center of our fears, is our highest good, our truest possibilities and all of our fertile dreams.

Willingness and permitting are what this Rune requires, for how can you exercise control over what is yet not in form? Whatever is coming can never arise from the known! Once again, this Rune often calls for no less than an act of courage to be willing to jump into the void of the unknown. July 2011 will surely be lived as an act of faith for many, as Pluto and Saturn wield their dark power to unveil whatever has been hidden.

If Karma represents the full total of your soul vibration and lives thus far, everything you have ever done, the limits on what you are and will become, then it may be useful to see this Rune as the path of karma. Yet, from the spiritual perspective, even the very depths of old karma shift and evolve as you shift and evolve. Nothing is predestined! There is nothing that cannot be avoided. If, indeed, there are matters and secrets hidden by the powers that be, you need only remember, what beckons to you is always the creative powers of the unseen and unknown.

Whenever this Rune appears, take heart. It is the source from which flows the energies for self-change. Know that the work of self-transformation is progressing within the world and within you.

Don’t be afraid to make the leap or take the chance.

JULY CRYSTAL: Ruby – Bloodstone

RUBY: Aids in regeneration of the physical/spiritual heart. Is the 4th crystal in the seven lines of the Chakras. Enhances circulation and the life-force. OWL—The Sacred Medicine Bird.

Owl medicine is symbolically associated with clairvoyance, astral projection, and magic, both black and white. Owl is called Night Eagle on several medicine wheels. Traditionally, Owl sits in the East, the place of illumination. Since time immemorial, humanity has been afraid of the night, the dark, the unseen – waiting fearfully for the first crack of dawn, welcoming the morning light. Conversely, night and Owl are friends.

Owl hunts its prey at night. Not only can Owl see in the dark, but it can also accurately pinpoint and identify any sound. This gives it a great advantage when seeking food. Owls are the night hunters. Some native people are fearful of the Owl and call its feathers “deceiver feathers”. An Owl’s feather is silent. You cannot hear Owl when it flies, but its prey definitely knows when it strikes, for its beak and talons are razor sharp.

Owl is oftentimes the medicine of sorcerers and witches. If Owl has come forth this month of July, 2011, you may be drawn into magical practices and perhaps beginning to explore the dark arts. After three eclipses in a row, there could be some strange world events, or silent but deadly and unexpected acts of aggression. You should be forewarned never to practice any black arts that may tap into and take away the energies of another person. Owl is the symbol for wisdom. Owl can see what others cannot. When others are deceived, Owl sees and knows what’s there.

Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, had a companion Owl on her shoulder which revealed secret truths to her. Owl could light up Athena’s blind side, enabling her to speak the whole truth as opposed to a half truth. So know that from now on, no one can deceive you about what they are doing, no matter how they try to disguise or hide it from you.

You may be a little frightening to be around, since so many others have ulterior motives which will be revealed to you. You can see right through them! You may frighten them and reflect their blindness, for you cannot be fooled. Owl medicine people know more about an individual’s inner life that that person knows about themselves.

This July—2011— we are being asked to use our powers of keen insight and observation to look into some life situation. Owl is befriending you—and aiding you into seeing the truth. Owl can bring you messages in the night through dreams or meditation. Owl is preparing you to be open, flexible, and aware as we finally enter into the preceding months before entering 2012. Pay attention to these signals and omens. The truth always brings us further enlightenment.

What is the rapture? According to most, our bodies are going to be lifted up to Heaven by the Lord, and we will dwell with Him forever. Many thousands thought this would be the case yesterday, and they prepared for what they call The Glory. But what is the pathway to true transformation? You are to be a part of the elite, the “me only” people, rise up, and leave everyone else behind to die in the horror and fury of hurricanes, earthquakes, fire, and brimstone? Is that Christian, is that Love? I think not. I call this Spiritual Arrogance.

We are in the process of a greater event at this time, and maybe this “staged” disappointment can be used as a tool to awaken people to how mankind has a fabulous opportunity to evolve and promote well-being so that everyone can experience Divine love and life in all of its richness.

As 2012 approaches, we are entering a time of personal and Soul evolution, not revolution. We have the rare opportunity to become attuned with other parts of ourselves, expand our thinking, grow in love and compassion, and reach out to the world, our galaxy sister and brothers, as well as our expansive Universe. So let us stop for a moment to contemplate the momentous place in time in which we find ourselves. Life, and especially human life, has evolved to a high level but we have a few steps to go, and the walk has already begun. You will not be able to escape its effects. Can you relate to the feeling of needing to stop and catch your breath? Do you feel the Ascension happening inside of you? Are you prepared for the ascend to the top? To the highest level of existence on this planet, the Fifth Dimension? We are now on the way and climbing to the ninth and highest level of life. Everyone has to prepare for this momentous opportunity. There is no room for hate, selfishness, or wanting to hurt and abandon others, for that is considered negative or evil.

We all chose to be born at this time and participate in co-creating a wave of unity throughout the world. It will not be easy to give up the thought patterns of ruling over others, taking advantage, neglecting the weak and downtrodden, and making sure we come first. Was that not the premise of yesterdays ridiculous feat?

It is now time for us to follow up, and actually manifest the Unity Soul Consciousness that is the intention of these times. The meaning of the unity wave that has now begun is for us to co-create healing, support, security, purification, along with health and happiness.

The energies of 2011 and 2012 call upon us to adapt to the new frequency of the Fifth Dimension and shift completely from asking for things for ourselves and what we as egos or individuals may want—to what our egos may do to serve the delivery of the Divine Plan. Service to others to balance the unbalanced. The ninth wave of unity is calling for a complete shift in our way of being, to manifest unity consciousness, which is the intended end result of the cosmic plan. This is our Ascension. As this shift, this rapture happens it calls for extraordinary cosmic energies to fulfill the cosmic plan. In fact, maybe this Ninth Wave will be a Judgment Day that will save the world. Everyone that is, not just the “chosen few!”

ANIMAL:  DOG — Loyalty

Dog – you are so noble,
Until the bitter end,
Your medicine is the teaching,
Of true and loyal friends.

All of the Southwest and Plains Indian tribes had Dogs. These noble animals would often give warning signals of approaching danger. They helped in the hunt and were a great source of warmth on long winter nights. Since the canine tribe has many breeds, early Indian Dogs were usually half-wild. This wilderness, however, never divested the owners of their Dogs’ innate loyalty.

Dog has been considered a servant of humanity throughout history. If a person carries Dog medicine, he or she is usually serving others or humanity in some way. Here you will find the charity worker, the philanthropist, the nurse, the counselor, the minister, the soldier.

Dog was the servant-soldier that guarded the tribe’s lodges from surprise attack. Dog is a medicine that embodies the loving gentleness of best friend and the half-wild protector energy of territorial imperative. Like Anubis, the jackal dog protector of Egypt, Dog is a guardian.Throughout history, Dog has been the guardian of Hell, or when mothers were cooking or in the fields. Dog honors its gifts and is loyal to the trust placed in its care.

In examining dog medicine you may find that you have fond personal memories of owning and loving Dog as a pet. The message that Dogs are trying to give you is that you must delve deeply into your sense of service to others. Canines are genuinely service-oriented animals. and are devoted to their owners with a sense of loyalty that supersedes how they are treated.

If a Dog has been yelled at or paddled, it still returns love to the person who is the source of its bad treatment. This does not come from stupidity, but rather from a deep compassionate understanding of human shortcomings. It is as if a tolerant spirit dwells in the heart of every canine that asks only to be of service.

You can also see when Dogs have had the loyalty beaten out of them. They cower and cry at the slightest look of disapproval, but this is not their normal nature. Some varieties of Dogs have even been turned against their natures to become brutal and vicious. Out of a sense of service these breeds have adopted the attack oriented desires of their owners. They arcry an altered genetic memory of what service means if they are to be approved of by their masters.

Dog medicine in June of 2011 asks you to look at how readily your sense of loyalty is countermanded by your need for approval. There are several questions you need to consider, depending on the situation about which you are asking.

Have I recently forgotten that I owe my allegiance to my personal truth in life?

Is it possible that gossip or the opinion of others have jaded my loyalty to a certain friend or group?

Have I denied or ignored someone who is trying to be my loyal friend?

Have I been loyal and true to my goals?

Reclaim the power of loyalty to self and self-truths. Become like the Dog, your own best friend.

As we are tested in life, we find the power to block and defeat. At the same time, we develop in ourselves an aversion to the conduct that brings us into stressful situations.

There appears to be a blockage on the path, but even delays may prove to be beneficial. Do not be overly eager to press forward. This is not a time or situation in which you can make your influence felt. Patience is the counsel that Eihwaz offers us in the month of June, while Mercury is retrograde. Nothing hectic, no acting needy or lusting after a desired outcome. This Rune speaks of the difficulties that arise at the beginning of a new cycle or new life.
